This is the perfect job for a mechanically and technically inclined candidate who has spent lots of time at sea and is ready to be shoreside. You need to be well organized, a good communicator and comfortable on a computer. You need to know how to earn the respect of your crew. The position requires a mix of planning the granular detail of refits and near perfect time and task management and execution of refits. You need to be able to multi-task and deal with unexpected problems and to be sure that the ships sail on time with no priority tasks left undone.
The timing of the refits and overhauls that you will be managing will be spread throughout the year allowing ample preparation and planning time as well as a generous time off schedule. The big ships are scheduled for annual refits in May and December.The smaller ships are scheduled for August and September. Shark cages and baiting platforms can be prepped anytime in the spring. Overhauled skiffs, outboards, compressors and scuba equipment need to be ready by the end October every year.
This is a full-time position based in Baja California, Mexico. Very good salary, benefits and bonuses. Fluency in english and spanish is required.
